If you’re a radiologist still working for a hospital group, the stress and disruptions are all too familiar. Midnight calls to read an Emergency Department (ED) study, missed family vacations, and kids’ sporting events have likely taken their toll. You may have heard about colleagues who transitioned to teleradiology years ago but never considered it for yourself—until now.
Why Consider Teleradiology with NRAD?
At National Radiology Solutions (NRAD), we offer a flexible and personalized approach to teleradiology, allowing you to work the hours you choose. Imagine a schedule where you can work 8-5, Monday through Friday, without worrying about weekend or nighttime calls. However, the uncertainty around switching—compensation, onboarding time, and workflow transitions—can be overwhelming. Here’s what you need to know to make an informed decision.
Onboarding Scenarios with NRAD: How Soon Can You Start?
Predicting the exact time for onboarding with NRAD can be challenging due to various factors, but based on our experience, here are some reasonable estimates:
Scenario 1: Already Have a Florida (FL) License
- Non-Mammo Scope of Work with a Usable Personal Workstation: The credentialing process might take 3-5 weeks.
- Non-Mammo Scope of Work Needing a Standard Workstation: Hardware setup and credentialing could take 4-6 weeks.
- Scope of Work Includes Mammo with a Usable Personal Workstation: Credentialing might take 4-6 weeks.
- Scope of Work Includes Mammo and Needing a Workstation: Hardware setup and credentialing could take 6-8 weeks.
Scenario 2: No Florida (FL) License
- Existing Licenses in States Where NRAD Has High-Volume Clients: Depending on the workstation and site credentialing requirements, it may take 3-8 weeks.
- No Pre-Existing FL License and Not Licensed in High-Volume States: Obtaining a Florida license and credentialing with FL clients typically takes 9-11 weeks.
During any of these scenarios, NRAD provides robust support, including IT assistance for setting up macros/templates and dictation information tailored to your workflow.
